While social media, the internet, and artificial intelligence promise to connect us conveniently from the comfort of our warm, cozy homes, there is a lack of intimacy and connection in society that is concerning.
Sure, for 30 minutes or so, we can talk about the weather, the kids, and this week’s happenings, but feeling seen and heard from an authentic, vulnerable place is not likely to happen in 30 minutes or virtually.
Even in-person events can be challenging. I don’t naturally walk into a room of people feeling like a dolphin among the playful pods of fish. I identify more with a starfish. Just sorta there, bobbing about in frothy ocean waves hoping to not lose any arms to a hungry predator. Weird, right?
But God…
His word tells me I am seen and heard. He is actively at work bringing to fruition my potential. And He knows you, your potential, your deepest thoughts, feelings, and experiences! It stops me dead in my tracks to consider the magnitude of being so intimately known… and loved!
God gets me…He gets you!
Furthermore, He frequently does things to remind me that he gets me. It’s precious, and charming, and makes me fall in love with Him all over again…
